"Things" that Loved the Beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam

All Praise is due to Allah Azza wa Jal, Salutations upon His most Perfect, unique, and cream of creations, the Intercessor of the Sinners, Sayyiduna Rasoolullah Sallallaahu Alaihi wa Aalihi  wa Sallam, upon his family, upon his companions and the righteous servants till Doomsday.

Sayyiduna Anas Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu narrated that the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam said,

لا يؤمن ‏أحدكم حتى أكون أحب إليه من والده وولده والناس أجمعين
“None of you truly believes (has Imaan) until I am more beloved to him than his father, his child and all of mankind.”

Loving the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam is a part of Imaan, and Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala has made it obligatory for us to love the Messenger Alaihis Salat wa as-Salam. Why? It is because loving the Prophet shows that you love Allah. It is because Allah sent him SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam that we are Muslims. There should be no one in this world more beloved to us than Allah and His Messenger.

We all claim to love the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam with our tongues, but do our actions show this?

When we love someone, how do we act? We want to be just like them. We think about them a lot. Whenever we remember them, we become happy. Their words comfort us. Their actions teach us. We love to hear about them all the time.

Do we really love the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam? Do we practice his Sunnah? Do we read his words? Do we learn from his teachings? Do we read about his life? Do we defend him? Do we spread his message? Alaihis Salaatu Rabbuna wa as-Salaam!

There are so many stories displaying the love of the Sahaba for the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam that we can regurgitate them all, because we have memorized them and not internalized them.

Here are some stories of non-human living beings that loved him Alaihis Salaatu Rabbuna wa as-Salaam more than we do!

..:: The Tree Stump ::..

Narrated Sayyiduna Jabir bin ‘Abdullah Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu: The Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam used to stand by a tree or a date-palm on Friday. Then an Ansari woman or man said. “O Allah’s Apostle! Shall we make a pulpit for you?” He replied, “If you wish.” So they made a pulpit for him and when it was Friday, he proceeded towards the pulpit (for delivering the sermon). The date-palm cried like a child! The Prophet descended (the pulpit) and embraced it while it continued moaning like a child being quietened.

Sayyiduna Ibn Umar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhuma narrated: The Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam used to deliver his sermons while standing beside a trunk of a date-palm. When he had the pulpit made, he used it instead. The trunk started crying and the Prophet went to it, rubbing his hand over it (to stop its crying).

Narrated Sayyiduna Jabir bin ‘Abdullah Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu: The Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam used to stand by a stem of a date-palm tree (while delivering a sermon). When the pulpit was placed for him we heard that stem crying like a pregnant she-camel till the Prophet got down from the pulpit and placed his hand over it.

These Ahadith are classified as Mutawaatir, meaning so many Sahaba narrated it that it cannot be fabricated. The different narrations show that they all witnessed it in the masjid. This is a miracle of the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam, and the narrations of the Sahaba are all authentic, found in Bukhari and Muslim. This tree trunk, which seems like a lifeless being to us, is actually alive and was so affected by the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam. Allah ta’ala says the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam is a “raHmatan lil ‘Aalameen”, a Mercy for all that exists, and we see this in how he comforted this stump. Imagine the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam soothing and hugging this tree stump!!

Illustrating this in very beautiful poetry, Hadrat Mawlana Jalal al-Din Rumi Alaihir raHmah says:

اُستن حنّانه از هجر رسول *** ناله میزد همچو ارباب عقول
The pillar of Hannanah due to Prophet’s separation, lamented like those endowed with intellect;

گفت پيغمبر: چه خواهى اى ستون *** گفت: جانم از فراقت گشت خون
The Prophet asked the pillar: what do you want? The pillar said: Due to your separation my soul has turned into blood;

مسندت من بودم از من تاختى *** بر سر منبر تومسند ساختى
I was your support; now you are away from me; you have devised a place to lean against upon the pulpit

… In the end Rumi hits in the center of our hearts and says:

بشنواى غافل كم از چوبى مباش
“Hearken, O heedless one! Be not thou less than a piece of wood!

Indeed such phenomena are utter realities for those endowed with insight!!

..:: Mount Uhud ::..

Narrated Sayyiduna Anas Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu: Allah’s Apostle SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam ascended the (mountain) of Uhud with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr as-Siddiq, Sayyiduna Umar al-Farooq and Sayyiduna ‘Uthman al-Ghani Radi Allahu Anhum Ajma'een and it shook. Allah’s Apostle said, “Be calm, O Uhud!” He stroked it with his foot and added, “There is none on you but a Prophet, a Siddiq and two martyrs.”

The Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam was traveling once: “and when Uhud was within sight, he said: This is the mountain which loves us and we love it.”

This is a mountain, made up of rocks and stones, yet we are made of flesh and have been given hearts that beat… do we love the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam as this mountain? Do we shake like this mountain out of love for him?

..:: A Stone ::..

The Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam said, “I know a stone in Makkah that used to salute (give salaams) me before I received the revelation, I still know it now.”

How often do we salute/send salawaat on the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam? The Prophet knew this stone, and if we send salawaat on him, especially on Fridays, they will be presented to him from us in sha Allah and not only this, The Messenger of Allah said, "No-one greets me except Allah has returned my soul to me so that I can return his Salam.

..:: A Tree ::..

Narrated by Ya’la ibn Murrah ath-Thaqafi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu: “Once we were walking with the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam and he stopped at a place to spend the night. When the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam went to sleep, a tree uprooted itself and came to the Prophet and enveloped him. When the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam woke up, he said: ‘this is a tree that when it saw the Prophet, it asked Allah to give salaams to the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam, and Allah gave it permission.’” [Musnad Ahmad, Tabarani and Bayhaqi: Sahih]

Do we ask to see the Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam in our dreams? Yet a tree is asking to send Salaams on the Prophet Alaihis Salaatu wa as-Salam.

These are not the only stories mentioned in the sacred traditions and witnessed by the Companions. Let us strive more to love the Prophet Alaihis Salaatu wa as-Salam: learn about his life, read about his companions, act upon his authentic statements and teachings, send Salawaat upon him and defend him, Alaihis Salaatu wa as-Salam.

May Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala shower His peace and blessings upon our beloved Prophet, and fill our hearts with love for Him and His Messenger, bless us to see him in our dreams and to grant us his companionship in Jannat al-Firdaws... Ameen!!

Ancestral Tree of AlaHadrat Imam Ahmad Rida Khan al-Baraylawi Alaihir raHmah

The blessed Genealogy of Sayyiduna AlaHadrat
Imam Ahmad Rida Khan al-Baraylawi Alaihir raHmah

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/304517_10151015635710334_1557035942_n.jpg

The following ancestral tree of AlaHadrat Imam Ahmad Rida Khan Alaihir raHmah is carefully constructed from the authentic Books of Genealogy and meticulously scrutinized with references to other books in this field. The ancestors were compared with dates and periods found in books written by Historians who were masters in this field. The following points were noted before compiling the Ancestral tree:

  • Preference was given to books compiled by Historians of Afghan descent/origin as they knew their descendants better than others.
  • Furthermore, amongst the Afghani Historians, preference was given to Historians that belonged to the Bar'hech tribe as AlaHadrat Imam Ahmad Rida Khan Alaihir raHmah belong to the Bar'hech tribe.
  • There is not much dispute in the Chain of the Ancestral tree from Sayyiduna Nabi Adam to Sayyiduna Nabi Ishaq.
  • The chain of the Family tree from Sayyiduna Nabi Ishaq to Hadrat Malikaloot was extracted according to the citation found in the books of authors who belonged to the Bar'hech tribe. This was so because people of a tribe will have more genuine information of their ancestors in relation to others of different tribes.
  • There is a consensus in Books of Ancestral trees from Hadrat Malikaloot to Sayyiduna Qais Malik 'Abdur-Rashid and so is the case from Sayyiduna 'Abdur-Rashid to Bar'hech.
  • From Bar'hech till Hadrat Shuja'at Jang Muhammad Sa'eedullah Khan the genealogy was extracted from Khulasat al-Ansab, Akhbar al-Sanadid and Bustan-e-Hikmat, whose authors are not only Afghanis, but belonged to the Bar'hech tribe.

This is how cautiously this Family tree from Sayyiduna Nabi Adam Alaihis Salam till AlaHadrat Imam Ahmad Rida Khan was constructed. The Ancestral tree is as follows:

AlaHadrat Imam Ahmad Rida s/o Ra’is al-Atqiya Imam Muhammad Naqi 'Ali s/o 'Arife-Billah Imam Rida 'Ali s/o Mawlana Hafiz Kazim 'Ali s/o Mawlana Shah Muhammad A'zam Khan s/o Mawlana Muhammad Sa'adat Yaar Khan s/o Shuja'at Jung Muhammad Sa'idullah Khan Bhadur Qandhari s/o 'Abdur-Rahman Khan s/o Yusuf Khan Qandhari s/o Dawlat Khan s/o Badal Khan s/o Da'ūd Khan s/o Bar’hech Khan s/o Sharfud-Deen 'Urf Shar’habūn s/o Ibra’him 'Urf Sard’bun s/o Sayyiduna Qais Malik 'Abdur-Rashid Sahabi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu s/o 'Ays s/o Salool s/o 'Utba s/o Na'eem s/o Marra s/o Malik Jalandar s/o Malik Askandar s/o Zaman s/o 'Unais s/o Bah’lool s/o Sa’lam s/o Salah s/o Qaroon s/o Nasr s/o Ashmu’ail s/o Na'eem s/o Akram s/o Ash’ath s/o Sharood s/o Makhal s/o Nusrat s/o Qalaj s/o Sher s/o 'Atham s/o Faylool s/o Karam s/o 'Amaal s/o Hudayfa s/o Mat’hal s/o Qabal s/o 'Ilm or 'Aleem s/o Ash’mool s/o Harūn s/o Qamar s/o Abi s/o Suheb s/o Talal s/o Lu’ee s/o 'Ameel s/o Taraj s/o Arzand s/o Mandool s/o Saleem or Sa’lam s/o Afghana s/o Sarad al-Muqallab bi Malik Taloot s/o Qais s/o 'Utbah s/o Talas s/o Ru’ail s/o Yahūdah s/o Sayyiduna Nabi Ya'qūb Alaihis Salam s/o Sayyiduna Nabi Ishaq Alaihis Salam s/o Khaleelullah Sayyiduna Nabi Ibra’him Alaihis Salam s/o Ta’rikh s/o Makhūd or Nahūr s/o Shurū' or Ash’ragh s/o Sayyiduna Nabi Hūd Alaihis Salam s/o 'Abir s/o Sha’lakh s/o Araf’khashad s/o Saam s/o Sayyiduna Nabi Nūh Alaihis Salam [age: 1400 years] s/o La’lak [age:780 years] s/o Malik Matla’shakh [age: 900 years] s/o Sayyiduna Nabi Idris Alaihis Salam s/o Bayarad s/o Mahla’heel s/o Qay’nan s/o Anūsh s/o Sayyiduna Nabi Sheeth Alaihis Salam [age: 912 years] s/o Sayyiduna Nabi Adam Alaihis Salam [age: 900 years]

AlaHadrat Alaihir raHmah belong to the Afghani Bar'hech tribe which was of Royal Descent. He was indeed a very respectable and noble tribe in Afghanistan. Great 'Ulama and Masha'ikh hailed from his dignified tribe whose Mazars are still a centre of solace and spiritual enlightenment for the people both in Afghanistan and Hindustan. A separate detailed book can be written about these great dignitaries. However, an important point to note is that in the ancestry of AlaHadarat, there are Eight (8) Noble Prophets and One Exalted Sahabi. The Prophets Alaihim as-Salam are:

1) Sayyiduna Nabi Ya'qoob
2) Sayyiduna Nabi Ishaq
3) Khalilullah Sayyiduna Nabi Ibra'him
4) Sayyiduna Nabi Hood
5) Sayyiduna Nabi Nooh
6) Sayyiduna Nabi Idris
7) Sayyiduna Nabi Sheeth
8) Sayyiduna Nabi Adam (Alaihim as-Salam)

The one Sahabi is Sayyiduna Qais Malik 'Abdur-Rashid Sahabi Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu. He is the 43rd descendant of Afghana and 45th descendant of Hadrat Malikaloot. Qais bin 'Ays lived in the mountain of Ghour. In one of the Expeditions of Sayyiduna Khalid ibn Walid, he became interested in Islam. So he took some of the leaders of Afghanistan and went to Madinah al-Munawwara. They met the beloved Prophet of Allah SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam and immediately accepted Islam on his sacred hands. Sayyiduna Rasoolullah then said to him:

"Qais is a Hebrew word and I am an Arab".

The Prophet of Allah gave him the Islamic name 'Abdur-Rashid. The blessed Habib SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam further said:

"You are the Awlad of Malik Taloot whom Allah blessed with the title of Malik (King). in the future you too will be remembered with the title of Malik".

This is how he got the title of Malik from the office of Prophethood.

It was in the Madinan period that the Beloved Nabi was planning for the conquest of Makkah Mukarrama and appointed Malik 'Abdur-Rashid and the other Afghani Sahabi as the lead of the secret service scouts of the army led by Sayyiduna Khalid ibn Walid Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu. The Afghani Mujahids displayed their astonishing bravery in the battle of Makkah. Sayyiduna Malik 'Abdur-Rashid himself killed 70 Kuffar in this battle (Refer to Akhbar al-Sanadid for details). His role and bravery in this war brought great joy to the heart of the Beloved Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam who predicted that a great family will emerge from the off-springs of this Sahabi. They will be steadfast on religion and will strengthen the Din of Islam like Bataan (conqueror with great bravery or Military Advisor). It was the effects of this Du'a of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam that great 'Ulama and Masha'ikh were born in the lineage of Sayyiduna Malik 'Abdur-Rashid Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu.

To name a few, some other stars in the firmament of excellence are: The great Mujaddid, AlaHadrat Imam Ahmad Rida al-Qadiri, His sons, Hujjat al-Islam Imam Hamid Rida al-Qadiri, Ghawth al-Zaman Mufti A'zam Imam Mustafa Rida al-Qadiri Noori and Taaj al-Shari'ah Mufti Muhammad Akhtar Rida al-Qadiri. Their services to the Deen is known to the Muslim World and precisely the manifestations of the Du'as of the Beloved Prophet of Allah SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam.

Since the Beloved Nabi's Du'a for the Awlad of Sayyiduna Malik 'Abdur-Rashid was that they will strengthen the Deen and their strength will be like Bataan, from that day on he became famous by the title of "Bataan". This word Bataan in later days changed to the present day name "Pathaan". Eventually, the Awlad of Sayyiduna Malik 'Abdur-Rashidhen became synonymous by the word Pathaan. This is how the word Pathaan can into existence. Sayyiduna Malik 'Abdur-Rashid Radi Allahi Ta'ala Anhu married Mutahira, the daughter of Sayyiduna Khalid ibn Walid Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu, and he passed away at the age of 87 years.

Fasting Six Days of Shawwal after Ramadan

Fasting Six Days of Shawwal after Ramadan
..:: || 'Like Fasting the Entire Year' || ::..

https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/59904_429465320333_672380333_5641429_5943063_n.jpg

Sayyiduna Ayyub (Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him, his family, and companions) said,

“Whoever fasts Ramadan and follows it with six days from Shawwal it is as if they fasted the entire year.” [Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah; Ahmad transmitted it from Jabir]

Sayyiduna Thawban (Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him, his family, and companions) said,

“Whoever fasts Ramadan, and then six days after Eid, it is an entire year. Whoever does a good deed shall have ten times its reward.”

https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/47522_429143680333_672380333_5635892_5068027_n.jpg

Important Notes:

1. Based on this, the majority of the fuqaha, including the Hanafi, Shafi'i, and Hanbali school, have held that it is recommended to fast six days of the month of Shawwal.
[Radd al-Muhtar; Mughni al-Muhtaj Shah al-Minhaj; Kashshaf al-Qina']

2. It is permitted to fast these six days separately throughout the month, or consecutively, after Eid al-Fitr.

3. It is prohibitively disliked (makruh tahriman) and sinful to fast on Eid day itself.
[Radd al-Muhtar]

4. The Shafi'is and Hanbalis state that it is superior to make the six fasts consecutive
[Minhaj, Ghayat al-Muntaha]. Khatib al-Shirbini explains the reasoning as being,

“In order to hasten to do the good, and because of the problems inevitable in delaying,”

such as becoming lazy and not actually fulfilling this sunnah in the end, though he points out that the sunnah is fulfilled by both consecutive and non-consecutive fasting of six days in Shawwal.
[Mughni al-Muhtaj]

https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/59541_429466900333_672380333_5641512_3005532_n.jpg

The later Hanafi scholars differed as to which is better, fasting the six days consecutively or non-consecutively, though neither is disliked and both fulfill the sunnah.[Radd al-Muhtar]

However, it would be agreed that those who fear not fulfilling the recommendation due to laziness, forgetfulness or other excuses, should hasten to fast the six days consecutively immediately after Eid al-Fitr.

5. The reward is akin to having fasted obligatory fasts the entire year days, according to Buhuti, Shirbini, and others.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (Allah bless him & give him peace) said,

“The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, though there is good in both. Be avid for that which benefits you. Rely on Allah and do not deem yourself incapable…” [Muslim:4816, Ibn Majah:76, Ahmad:8436]

Imam Nawawi (Allah have mercy on him) explained that the ‘strength’ in this hadith refers to, “One’s determination and ability in matters of the next life.”

And Allah alone gives success!!

Excellence of Eidain and Method of Performing the Eid Prayer

I. Hadrat Anas reported that when the Holy Prophet came to Madinah, the people had two days in which they used to entertain and amuse themselves. He asked: “What are these two days?” They said: “We used to amuse ourselves and take pleasure in these two days during the Days of Ignorance (jahiliyyah). The Messenger of Allah said, “Allah has substituted for you something better than these two; the Eid of Adha  (sacrifice) and the Eid of Fitr . [Sunan Abi Dawood - Book on Prayer, Vol 1, Page 162]

II. Hadrat Abu al-Huwairith reported that the Messenger of Allah wrote to Hadrat ‘Amr ibn Hazm, when he was in Najran, asking him to observe the prayer early on the Eid of Adha (sacrifice) and late on the Eid of Fitr, and to admonish the people.
[Mishkaat - Book on Prayer, Vol 1, Page 127]

III. Hadrat Jabir ibn Samurah reported, “I prayed with the Messenger of Allah the two Eid prayers more than once or twice, without an Adhan or Iqamah.”
[Sahih Muslim - Book on the two Eid Prayers, Vol 1, Page 290]

IV. Hadrat Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah did not go (to the place of prayer) in the morning on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr till he ate some dates, and he used to eat an odd number.
[Sahih Bukhari - Book on the two Eid Prayers, Vol 1, Page 130]

V. Hadrat Buraidah reported that the Holy Prophet did not go out on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr till he had eaten some food; and that he did not eat any food on the day of Eid-ul-Adha (sacrifice) till he had prayed.
[Sunan Tirmidhi - Book on the two Eid Prayers, Vol 1, Page 120]

VI. Hadrat Jabir reported that on the day of Eid the Holy Prophet used to return by a different route from the one he had taken when going out.
[Sahih Bukhari - Book on the two Eid Prayers, Vol 1, Page 134]

Important Notes:

1. To greet, embrace and shake hands with one another, after the Eidayn prayer is an act of reward; and which is also a means of increasing love and affection between Muslims and a way of expressing ones joy and happiness.

2. It is not permissible for females to perform the Eidayn prayers, as there shall be mixing between the men and the women in the Eidgah (place where the Eid prayer is performed). This is why it is not permissible for females to go to the Masajid to perform salaah with congregation; whether they go in day or at night; whether for Jum’ah or for Eidayn; whether they are old or young.
[This has been stated in Tanwir al-Absar and al-Durr al-Mukhtar Page 114]
Yes, however, before Zawal women can perform the 2 or 4 rak’ats Chasht (Salatud Duha) prayer at home, after the Eidayn prayer has finished. [Bahar-e-Shari’at – Vol. 1, Chapter 4, Page 94]

3. If only the women have their own congregation for salaah, then this is also not permissible, as the congregation held by women between themselves (to perform salaah) is not allowed, in fact it is strictly disliked (Makruh-e-Tehrimi).
[This has been stated in Fatawa-e-’Alamgiri Vol. 1 Page 80, also in al-Durr al-Mukhtar Page 77]

4. Even if women pray the Eidayn prayer on their own, then this is also not permissible as it is a condition to establish the Eidayn prayer that it is performed with a congregation. Yes! Women should pray the nafl (supererogatory) salaah on that day; at home, on their own. In sha’Allah they shall receive the blessings and rewards of that day.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/47522_429143700333_1312561_n.jpg

Method for performing the Eid Prayer
The method is to make intention for Eid-ul-Fitr or Eid-ud-Duha for two Rakats Wajib and then lift your hands up to your ears and say ‘Allahu Akbar’ and then fold them below the navel as normal.

Now pray ‘Sana’ and then say Allahu Akbar and lift your hands up to your ears and release them and again lift your hands and say Allahu Akbar and release them again and then lift your hands again and say Allahu Akbar and then fold them.

This means fold your hands after the first and fourth Takbeer and in the second and third Takbeers release your hands. The best way to remember is that if the Imam shall recite after the Takbeer then fold your hands and when he shall not recite (after a Takbeer) release your hands and hang them on the side.

After folding your hands after the fourth Takbeer the Imam will silently recite ‘A’udhubillah’ and ‘Bismillah’ and then he will pray Surah al-Fatiha (‘Alhamd Sharif’) and a Surat loudly and then go into Ruku and Sijdah and (thus,) complete one Rak’at (unit).

https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/58218_429143345333_4709131_n.jpg

Then in the second Rak’at the Imam will first pray the Alhamdu and a Surat then lift your hands to your ears and say Allahu Akbar and release them; and do not fold them and repeat this twice. Therefore a total of three times the Takbeer shall be said. On the fourth time say Allahu Akbar and without lifting your hands go into Ruku.

This therefore means that in the Eid prayer there are six extra Takbeers; three before Qira’at (recitation) and after Takbeer-e-Tahrima in the first Rak’at and three after Qira’at in the second Rakat and before the Takbeer for Ruku.

Also in all the extra Takbeers you must lift your hands and between two Takbeers a gap of three Tasbeehs should be made and it is Mustahab in the Eid prayer to recite after Alhamdu, ‘Surah al-Jumu’ah’ in the first Rak’at and ‘Surah al-Munafiqun’ in the second or in the first pray ‘Sabbih Isma Rabbik al-A’la’ and in the second ‘Hal Ataaka Hadeethul Ghasihiyah’. [al-Durr al-Mukhtar Pgs. 113-114, Bahar-e-Shari’at]

Method of performing the Eid prayer has been taken from the English version of the book “Qanoon-e-Shari’at”, by ‘Allama Shamsul ‘Ulama Shamsuddin Ahmed al-Radawi, the student of Sadr al-Shari’ah, Allama Mufti Amjad ‘Ali al-‘A’azmi.
